UFJC Title Successfully Defended

Sanfrecce Hiroshima drew Vegalta Sendai by a score of 1-1 to retain the UFJC title away on Sunday, November 9. This was a league match.

The current Unofficial Football Japanese Championship holders are Sanfrecce Hiroshima, winning the title from Shonan Bellmare on October 4 by a score of 2-0.

Since that match, Sanfrecce Hiroshima has successfully defended the title against:

-Osaka Sports University on October 12 with a 6-0 win
-Sagan Tosu on October 25 with a 5-1 win
-Tokyo Verdy on October 2 with a 1-0 win
-Vegalta Sendai with a 1-1 draw

This is Hiroshima's 15th reign as UFJC title holder.

Hiroshima's next defense will take place on November 15 with an Emperor's Cup match in Nagasaki against Kawasaki Frontale. A Kawasaki win would mark the return of the UFJC title to the top division after a 9 month spell in J2.
