UFJC Title Successfully Defended

Sanfrecce Hiroshima defeated Kawasaki Frontale by a score of 2-0 to retain the UFJC title away on Saturday, November 15. This was an Emperor's Cup match.

The current Unofficial Football Japanese Championship holders are Sanfrecce Hiroshima, winning the title from Shonan Bellmare on October 4 by a score of 2-0.

Since that match, Sanfrecce Hiroshima has successfully defended the title against:

-Osaka Sports University on October 12 with a 6-0 win
-Sagan Tosu on October 25 with a 5-1 win
-Tokyo Verdy on November 2 with a 1-0 win
-Vegalta Sendai on November 9 with a 1-1 draw
-Kawasaki Frontale on November 15 with a 2-0 win

This is Hiroshima's 15th reign as UFJC title holder.

Hiroshima's next defense will take place on November 22 with a league match at home against Thespa Kusatsu. A Kusatsu win would assure that the UFJC title will be defended in J2 until the fourth round of the 2009 Emperor's Cup at the earliest.
