The current Unofficial Football Japanese Championship holders are Sanfrecce Hiroshima, winning the title from Shonan Bellmare on October 4 by a score of 2-0.

Since that match, Sanfrecce Hiroshima has successfully defended the title against:

-Osaka Sports University on October 12 with a 6-0 win
-Sagan Tosu on October 25 with a 5-1 win
-Tokyo Verdy on November 2 with a 1-0 win
-Vegalta Sendai on November 9 with a 1-1 draw
-Kawasaki Frontale on November 15 with a 2-0 win
-Thespa Kusatsu on November 22 with a 4-3 win
-Roasso Kumamoto on November 30 with a 2-1 win

This is Hiroshima's 15th reign as UFJC title holder.

Hiroshima's next defense will take place on December 6 with a league match at home against Tokushima Vortis. A Tokushima win would assure that the UFJC title will be defended in J2 until the fourth round of the 2009 Emperor's Cup at the earliest.
